Donald L. Murphy of Sun City, Huntley Donald L. Murphy, 82, a former many-year resident of the Carpentersville and Elgin area, passed away on Friday morning, at his home surrounded by family. Don was born in Chicago on March 27, 1930. He was the son of the late Thomas J. and Blanche (nee Kay) Murphy. On Nov. 3, 1951, he married Lorraine R. Pfauser. Don was a proud graduate of Lane Tech High School in Chicago and a resident of the area for the past 55 years. He was a Draftsman and P & I supervisor by trade and was a former 33-year employee of Procon and then later worked for UOP until his retirement in 2009. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lorraine; and their daughters, Audrey (Frank) Bazos and JoAnne (Albert III) Collingbourne. Other survivors include his grandchildren, Sean, Sara, Donald, Melissa, Kathleen, Adam and Emily; and his great-grandchildren, Zoey, David, Ethan and Olivia. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his two daughters, Kathleen Huckeby in 1981 and Maureen F. Murphy in 2006; and three brothers, Richard, Edward and James. |
