Theleen Mr. Robert A. Theleen Co-Founded ChinaVest Merchant Bank in 1983 and serves as its Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Theleen served as Co-Chief Executive Officer of ChinaVest Merchant Bank. Mr. Theleen began his career in 1973 with the First National Bank in Dallas, after serving as General Manager of the Singapore Branch, he organized in 1977 First National Bank's Hong Kong merchant banking subsidiary, First Dallas... Asia Limited. In 1980, he established the Dallas Pacific Group to provide corporate finance advisory and investment services in East Asia to clients from the U.S. and Europe, with a focus on China. He serves as Chair of The Board of Governors of The American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. Mr. Theleen served as Chairman of Zindart Ltd. from January 1997 to September 2000 and also served as its Vice-Chairman. He served as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Corgi International Ltd. and its Director since 1997. He serves as a Director of NewTone Communications Corp. and Virgin Asia Management. He served as a Director of Zindart Ltd. since 1997. Mr. Theleen served as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Beijing Enterprises Holdings Ltd. from July 02, 2004 to December 31, 2014. Mr. Theleen is a founding member of the executive committee of the Hong Kong-Taipei Business Cooperation Committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Theleen serves as a Trustee of the Asia Foundation and an active member of the business community in Shanghai where he resides. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the Asia Society, is a contributing member of the Task Force on America's Role in Asia, a Brookings Institute sponsored group to investigate and propose U.S. policy in Asia for the Bush Administration and is active with the Young President Organization and the Hopkins-Nanjing Center. In 1999 he was awarded an honorary doctorate of philosophy from Loras College in Iowa for his work in China. Mr. Theleen studied Bachelor of Arts Degree from Duquesne University and an MBA from the American School of International Management in 1970. |
