| About | CRYSTAL LAKE – Julie Calhoun nee Ball, 56, of Crystal Lake, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Centegra Hospital – Woodstock. She was born Feb. 20, 1953, in Freeport, to Don and Nancy Ball nee Walker, and she enjoyed being a housewife, mother and grandmother. She especially enjoyed art and baking with her granddaughter and loved wildlife. Survivors included her husband, John "Jack" Calhoun, whom she married June 21, 1975, in Freeport; her daughter, Jennifer (Jim) Kratochvil; her granddaughter, Jordyn; her parents, Don and Nancy Ball; her brother, Bruce (Jackie) Ball; and a nephew, Kyle Ball. Preceding her in death were Raymond and Alice Calhoun nee Woodbury, her father-in-law and mother-in-law. The visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Monday, Jan. 11, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake.
