About | Marilyn Szejda SZEJDA (SPRENG) - Mrs. Marilyn Spreng Szejda, passed away September 19, 2010 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Surviving are her loving husband and soulmate, James Szejda; her parents, Jarvis and Mary Spreng; children, Drew Prelgavskas, John and Sandra Szejda, Jennifer Szejda and Tad Peterson; grandson, Caiden Szejda; her brothers and sisters, Rich and Pat Spreng, Anne Spreng, Judy Spreng; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nancy and Jim Neper; several nieces and nephews. Marilyn was born in Naperville, Illinois in 1953, she graduated from Hope College and spent her career teaching in the Wyoming Public Schools and retired from teaching in 2008. In keeping with Marilyn's wishes cremation has taken place. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, 2600 7th St. NW, where a Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m., Pastor Mark Thompson, officiating. Her family will receive visitors Friday 6 to 9 p.m. at Arsulowicz Brothers, Remembrance Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance Rd., and Saturday at church one hour prior. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to Spectrum Health Hospice or American Cancer Society.
