| About | Mary Lou E. Kearns Kearns, Mary Lou E. Age 58 of Waterman, IL passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012 on the family farm just as the spring planting was completed. She was born on July 8, 1953 in Aurora, IL the daughter of Elmer F. and Edna (Pantke) Staffeldt. Mary Lou was united in marriage on March 31, 1973 at St. Peter & Paul Parish in Naperville to David A. Kearns and they spent the next 39 years together working side by side farming and raising cattle. Mary Lou was completely devoted to her family, their farm and her faith. She was active in her local 4-H Program, and was also on the DeKalb County FSA program committee. Mary Lou was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, David Kearns of Waterman, IL; her sons, David Kearns, Jr. of Waterman, IL, Patrick (Mindy) Kearns of Seattle, WA, and Scott (Lynette) Kearns of Winslow, IL; her grandchildren, Kennedy, Koby, Addison, and Blake Kearns; her sister, Debra Staffeldt of Naperville, IL; as well as, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant son, Russell James Kearns; and a sister, Margaret Staffeldt, in infancy. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, April 30, 2012 at Nash-Nelson Funeral Home 1001 E. Garfield St., (corner of Rt.30 and Rt.23) Waterman, IL with Father Andrew Hougan officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Mound Cemetery, Somonauk, IL. Friends may visit from 2:00 until 8:00 PM, Sunday, April 29, 2012 and again from 9:00 AM until the Hour of Service, Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Funeral Home, Waterman, IL.
