PEORIA – Amber Star Van Lanen, 34, of Peoria, died at 1:03 a.m., Saturday, November 6, 2010, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria due to head injuries brought about by a fall. She was born September 25, 1976 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Donald and Alice Dugan Van Lanen. Surviving are her mother and step-father, Alice and John Holme of Peoria; her sisters, Lisa Van Lanen of Peoria, Laura Van Lanen of Bloomington; her brother, Marcus (Colleen) Holme of Chicago; her niece, Jasmine Wilson of Peoria, and her beloved dog, Saydie. She is preceded in death by her father. She received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. She was employed by P.A.R.C. as Group Home Manager for the last two years. Previously she worked for CWTC and The Children's Home. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 12, 2010 at the Wilton Mortuary in Peoria. The Rev. Dr. Michael Brown will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to P.A.R.C.; Dogtownrescue.com; or "PETA". |
