About | PEORIA - Amy Melissa Asher, 31, of Peoria passed away at 6:01 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at her home. She was born Aug. 19, 1977, in Charleston, Ill. Her parents are Charles and Diana (Eaves) Asher of Peoria. Also left to cherish her memory are her "Nanny," Clastie Eaves of Peoria; fiance, Chris Gilles of Peoria; one sister, Amber Asher of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, J.D. Smith of Portland, Ore., and Kee Wilson, and her birthmother, Sandie Wilson, both of Flagstaff, Ariz.; aunt and uncle, Jon (Janet) Asher of Santa Fe, N.M., and Linda (the late Arthur) Forsberg of Estacada, Ore.; a dear friend, Tony Hood of Peoria; and many loving cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by Papaw, Charles Eaves; and grandparents, Charles and Helen Asher. Amy graduated from Richwoods High School in 1995 and worked for a time as a licensed cosmetologist at several area salons. She was a published writer and was currently working on two novels at the time of her death. She was a friend of the truest kind. She never met a stranger and would give her last dollar to someone in need. Amy loved music, playing her guitar and singing. The world has lost a diamond but the sky has gained a star that will shine for eternity. Sleep well beloved. A service will be at 12 noon, today, Oct. 7, 2008, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. The Rev. Michael Brown will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to P.E.T.A. or to the Epilepsy Foundation.
