| About | Jan (Avara) Bennett passed away Dec. 31, 2015, in Denver, Colorado. Jan was the daughter of the late Melvin Avara. She moved to Alaska to be near him when she graduated from high school. Jan loved Alaska and all that it offered. She worked in several different fields including dispatcher for the Fairbanks Police Department. Jan relocated to Texas to pursue a career in the airline industry. She was a loving and devoted mother to five children. She is predeceased in death by her son, Sean Gullette, and her father, Melvin Avara. Surviving Jan in Alaska is her stepmother, Gwen Avara, and step brothers Douglas, Donald and Darryl Avara. She will be remembered with loving thoughts and special memories of our life with her here in Alaska. |
