| About | Danny Windland November 21, 1951 - November 22, 2014 Danny Ray Windland, age 63, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. He was born on November 21, 1951 in Rochelle, the son of Delbert Ray and Helen J. Troxel Windland. He graduated from the Rochelle Township High School Class of 1969. Danny married Sharon L. Williams on February 14, 1970, she preceded him in death on October 21, 2009. He later married Kathryn Bettner on June 23, 2012. Danny worked at DelMonte in Rochelle, for 40 years, he also helped several area farmers. After retirement, he gladly helped at several other various jobs. He is also preceded in death by his father. Member of the Rochelle United Methodist Church and the Kiwanis Golden K Club. Survived by his wife, Kathy Windland of Rochelle; mother, Helen Windland of Rochelle, 2 children: Jason (Megan) Windland of Rochelle, and Anita (Mike) Friedlund of DeKalb; 4 step children: Melanie (Chris) Clark of Ashton, Brad (Jennifer) Bettner of Saginaw, MI, Danielle Bettner of Ottawa, and Michael Bettner of Rochelle; 2 brothers: Delbert Jr. (Linda) Windland of Rochelle, and Dana (Donna) Windland of Rochelle; 2 sisters: Debbie (Tim) Sexton of Bloomington, IL, and Dawn (Roman) Robles of Edgerton, WI; 2 grandchildren: Colin and Morgan Schabacker; 5 step grandchildren: Zakk and Peyton Clark, and Carter, Alaina and Kinsley Bettner. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 PM on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle. Memorial service will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday at the Rochelle United Methodist Church with the Rev. Cindy Marino officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
