About | Kelly McGuire Obituary WINCHESTER - Kelly Denise McGuire, 41, of Winchester, passed away early Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, in Winchester after a courageous fight against cancer. She was born March 26, 1972, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Olin and Phyllis Harty McGuire. She is survived by her mother; two sisters, Kristen McGuire and Kari (Jim) Dobson; one brother, Ryan McGuire; grandmother, Geraldine McGuire; two nephews, Logan and Peyton Dobson; and a niece, Olivia Dobson, all of Winchester. She is also survived by four aunts, Elieen Lafary, Paulette Johnston, Mary Holdiness and Ramona Harty; three uncles, Paul Harty, Gordon Harty and Gary Harty; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents, Paul and Izella Harty and Leo McGuire; a stepgrandmother, Lavern Harty; and two uncles, Darrel McGuire and Jack Harty. Kelly attended Winchester schools and graduated from Winchester High School in 1990. She attended Lincoln Land Community College and received a certificate of achievement in Culinary Arts in 2010. As a youth, Kelly was active in 4-H and she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winchester. She worked for Sacred Heart Convent in Springfield as a pastry chef. Kelly was an avid reader, she loved to cross-stitch and she loved to cook and bake for her family. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Winchester. The family will meet with friends at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First Baptist Church, the Winchester EMS, or the American Cancer Society.
