Aldene Marie Nordmark, 94, of Green Oaks, IL and formerly of Zion and Waukegan area died September 2, 2016 at her home. She was born July 28, 1922 in Zion, IL. She lived in Zion in her early years, moved to Waukegan where she raised her family and then to Green Oaks after retirement. Aldene attended Zion High School and then worked as a secretary at Great Lakes Naval Base. She married Brynolf Nordmark on April 5, 1947. Aldene loved her life with Brynolf and raising their three children. She enjoyed time spent with friends and entertaining at their home, growing beautiful roses, traveling, knitting and needlepoint, reading, playing cards and keeping up on all the current news. Later on, Aldene enjoyed volunteering at Victory Memorial Hospital and cherished moments spent with her grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Eric (Christine) Nordmark, Nils (Cheryl) Nordmark, and Elizabeth "Beth" (Vince) Zupkus; 7 grandchildren, Eric, Brynn, Sonja, Birgit, Thor, Alison, and Morgan; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brynolf; parents, Fred and Elizabeth Naden; and sister, Betty Holliday. Services were private for the family.
