About | Ann Elizabeth Mitchell of Kenosha, WI, went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2024. She was born at home in Zion on March 10,1926, to her parents Elizabeth and Earl Cook, oldest of four daughters. She married Earl Mitchell of Zion in November of 1947. Ann found joy in raising their four children. Her gift of hospitality included many family cookouts at the farm on Wadsworth Road. Her favorite being when she served homemade ice cream. Ann attended Zion-Benton High School, class of 1943. She began her career as court reporter, helped as administrative assistant for Earl Mitchell Nursery, and Abbott Laboratories. Her hobbies included, playing trumpet in high school marching band, sang and played piano into her 80’s, and knit wedding afghan for each grandchild. She was also an accomplished seamstress. Parallel to this journey, she began to seek meaning in her spiritual life, searching for truth in God. She found Jesus as her Savior in 1953 and served Him at Immanuel Church in Girl Pioneers and on the Missions Team for over 65 years. Survivors include her sister, Colleen Lynch, her four children: Cristie(Warren)Wetherbee, Ken(Carla) Mitchell, Beth Carlson, and Ellen(Dan) Snyder; her 10 grandchildren: Erica, Audrey, Kelly, Ryan, Kurt, Marc, Erik, Scott, Derek, and Tim; and 15 great-grandchildren. Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Earl, two sisters, Norma Eagle and Sally DeTienne, three brothers-in-law, Richard Eagle, Benjamin Lynch and Lloyd DeTienne, and son-in-law Rick Carlson. |
