Captain Emery Stephen "steve" Creekbaum Obituary (1948 - 2017)

About Steve lived in Wicksburg, Alabama where he lays at rest in a mausoleum. Born in Lebanon, Indiana, but lived his school years in Brownsburg, Indiana. He ran track and was on Brownsburg High School's first Cross Country team in 1963. He was a 4 year varsity basketball, Track and Cross Country team member and letterman. Steve played the guitar and formed a 4 man Rock-N-Roll band while in High School. Steve enjoyed golf and riding horses as his favorite recreational sports.

Steve graduated from the University of Evansville where he received a basketball scholarship. He played basketball on the University of Evansville Purple Aces' team each year. He served on the college's Student Government Association and was elected as its Student Body President his senior year.

He joined the United States Air Force and was commissioined to Laughlin Air Force Base near Del Rio,Texas. He received a meritorious service award while a Pilot Instructor and Commander for the 47th Flying Training Wing. Captain Creekbaum became an instructor pilot flying the Northrop T-38 training jet and finally served as an Air Defense pilot at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida.

After his military service, Steve became a Merrill Lynch financial service consultant. 1980 he established Merrill Lynch's Dothan Alabama's Wealth Management office. Steve achieved the Certified Investment Management Analys from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Dothan Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was attended the First United Methodist Church. Funeral services were held March 31, 2017 at First United Methodist Church.
