About | Partial info from tribute to Wayne: ...he graduated from Monroe Central in 1985 and is remembered for his "class clown" act that brightened everyone's day. His favorite song was Sammy Hagar and you could often hear him singing "I Can't Drive 55" in the hallways between classes. But Wayne was more than a good time and a song. Carrying a full load of classes he also spent his senior year working full time. Never complaining, he made his way into manhood. Yearbook inscriptions from Wayne always read "We will be friends forever" and "See you at our 100th reunion!" I wish to God that he could be there because here it is, 22 years later, and I can still hear him in my heart, singing at the top of his lungs the night before he died, what had become our anthem as I worked as a disc jockey: Bon Jovi's "Never Say Goodbye." And Wayne, we never will say goodbye because you will be in our memories and our hearts forever. Love ya, Scoobie. "God gives grace for each trial. And courage for each sorrow. And faith to face in confidence A blessed, bright tomorrow." (From Wayne's memorial card) |
