About | Betty Lu (Powers) Davis of New Castle, 68, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on September 11, 2022, after an extended illness. She was cared for by her loyal husband, dedicated daughter, and the wonderful staff from Henry Community Health Hospice. Betty was born on April 24, 1954, to the late Ernest and Clara (Apple) Powers. She graduated from New Castle Chrysler High School where she participated in band playing the clarinet and was a baton twirler. She worked at Western Electric for 12 years before its closing. Betty also graduated from Indiana University East as a Registered Nurse while running a wonderful, educational, and loving home daycare along with caring for her ill mother. Betty had many patients she deeply cared for during her nursing career before going on disability due to her illness. Betty was a loving wife to James Davis and an amazing mother to Christian Davis, Jacob Davis, and Katherine (Neil) Sealover. She absolutely adored her three grandchildren Bryden Sealover, Kenzie Sealover, and Reilly Sealover. Betty also loved many children she cared for and taught in her home daycare. Betty is survived by her husband, three children, three grandchildren, and big sister Beverly (Powers) Furbee along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents and two big brothers Morris and Melvin Powers. Betty's celebration of life will take place at the Sulphur Springs Community Building (Allan Park 203 Mulberry Street Sulphur Springs, IN 47388) on Saturday October 15th, 2022, from 5pm to 9pm with dinner provided.
