About | Shelbyville News 15 Aug 1998 Alma Brooks Alma Brooks, 84, Shelbyville, died Friday at Major Hospital. Born Oct. 18, 1913, in Rushville, she was the daughter of Charles and Mary (Smith) Wagner. On Jan. 14, 1933, she married William Brooks, and he survives. A 1930 graduate of Rushville High School, Mrs. Brooks had lived in Shelbyville since 1942. She retired in 1975 from Stokely-VanCamp in Indianapolis after working there 12 years. She had been active in the Psi Iota Xi sorority and a member of the First Christian Church, both in Shelbyville. Survivors also include a daughter, Mrs. Glinn (Marilynn) White, Bryan, Texas; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Moster & Cox Mortuary in Rushville. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery in Rushville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Central Indiana Chapter. |
