About | Beth Ann (Mull) Kabalka, 69, of Knoxville, Tenn., died on Jan. 27, 2014 after a heroic battle with gastric cancer. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, George Kabalka. Beth was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, who gave selflessly to her family. She will be deeply missed. She is also survived by their two children, Kathy (husband Chris) Dodson and Stephen (wife Elizabeth) Kabalka; five grandsons, Cory, Connor, Kieran, Declan and Rowan, who gave her so much pleasure and enjoyment in her retirement; Aunt Janice Tressler, who helped raise her; cousins Ann Lacy, Jon Tressler and Danny Tressler and their progeny; and many nieces and nephews, including Jessica Cole and Brian Mull, her brother's children. She is proceeded in death by her beloved brother, Phillip Mull and their mother, Roselle Mull. She was born and raised in Rushville and was a 1962 graduate of Rushville High School. She moved to Purdue University, where she met her husband. They relocated to Knoxville, where they made a happy life for themselves as members of the University of Tennessee community. After raising her children, she returned to school and earned her Master's Degree in Social Work. She practiced as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, working in both the hospital and inpatient settings, until retiring in 2006. She was a gourmet cook, avid reader and had a green thumb. She and George enjoyed traveling the world together, with their children and grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at Highland Memorial Funeral Home, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919. A funeral mass will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Church, 414 West Vine Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37902. Interment will be from 11:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at Highland Memorial Cemetery, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919 |
