About | Betty Joe Buttery, 79, of Rushville, passed away January 6, 2015 in Rushville. She was born April 28, 1935 in Rushville to Owen S. & Mildred (Walker) Stamm. She was a 1954 graduate of Rushville High School. She married Billy Tom Sharpe in 1961 and he preceded her in death in 1967. She married Lenny Buttery in 1969 and he survives. Betty owned & operated the West Side Bar in Rushville for many years until 1985 when she moved to Cincinnati. She worked for Showe Reality Management in Cincinnati for 22 years, retiring in 2007. She moved back to Rushville & was active in the Foster Grandparent program at Rushville Elementary & St. Mary's. Betty was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Rushville. She is survived by her husband, Lenny, of Rushville, her son, Mike & wife Jenny Sharpe of Rushville, daughters, Brenda Sharpe of Beech Grove and Teresa & husband Brian Spence of Rushville, a sister, Rebecca Stevens of Rushville, a step son, Richie & wife Bobbie Buttery of Vero Beach, FL, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, John & Charles Stamm and a sister, Sandy McLaughlin. Services will be held at 3 PM Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, with Rev. Ron Naylor presiding. Friends are welcome to visit from 1-3 PM on Saturday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rush County Humane Society. |
