About | Catherine E. Wesling, 93, of Oviedo, Fla. and formerly of Rushville, died July 29, 2012. A Christian Mass will be held Aug. 8 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Altamonte Springs, Fla. She will be buried in Incarnation Catholic Church Memorial Gardens in Sarasota, Fla. She was born Sept. 24, 1918 in Rushville, the daughter of the late John Paul and Margaret (Schetgen) Wesling. She went to grade school at St. Mary's and graduated from Rushville High in 1936. She was a Stenographer with the federal government in Indianapolis for 30 years. She cared for her parents in her early life, staying in the home place on N. Morgan Street for nearly 50 years until moving to Sarasota with her brother Eugene in the early '90s. She enjoyed playing games with children, euchre and spades with friends and family, and spending time with all her 15 nieces and nephews. She traveled to several countries with her nieces and had many wonderful vacations all over the US with all of them; they were like the children she never had. Left to cherish her memory are nieces and nephews, Kathy, Liz, Tom, Mike, John, Joseph, Joan, Mark, Monica, Donna, Rudy, Johnny, Joey, Robin and Bobby; and one surviving sister, Josephine Wesling of Oviedo, Fla. She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. John Paul Wesling and Josephine A. Wesling. Donations may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church of Rushville or Sisters of St. Francis of Oldenburg. |
