About | Charles Edward Briscoe, 60, of Connersville, formerly of Glenwood, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born Feb. 19, 1953 in Richmond, Ky., the son of the late William Paul Briscoe and Martha Isaacs Briscoe. He came to Indiana as a child and lived most of his life in the Glenwood community. He is a 1971 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School. Charles was also a member of the Glenwood Christian Church, Orange Lodge # 234 F. & AM, Connersville Moose Lodge and the Rushville Eagles Lodge. He had been employed for many years at D & M and WCI as well as NTNBCA in Greensburg and Delta Faucet in Greensburg. He is an avid fan of University of Kentucky Wildcat basketball and he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing, playing cards and singing karaoke, but he especially loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Charles is survived by his daughters; Amanda Briscoe and her fiance Daniel Girot of Connersville, Miranda Briscoe and her companion Michael Curry II, of Noblesville, and Jolanda Rankin and her husband Drew of Arlington; a sister Pauletta Briscoe of Connersville; five grandchildren Jameson Dykes, Camille Curry, Michael Curry III, Kinsley Gabbard and Kellen Rankin; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his grandparents Charlie Lee Briscoe and Hessye Tincher Briscoe; Edward and Rissie Ross Isaacs and his step grandmother Sarah Bowman Price Isaacs. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home with Minister Donald Heller and Rev. Billy Isaacs officiating. Burial will be in Orange North Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m.Friday where Masonic Memorial Services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rush County Community Assistance Food Pantry.
