About David D. Norris, 66, a life long Rush County resident, passed away at his home in Rushville on Jan. 16, 2015.

He was born Aug. 14, 1948 in Indianapolis to Russell L. and Lois K. (King) Norris.

David was a 1966 graduate of Rushville High School and a 1970 graduate of Purdue University where he was manager of the men's basketball team for three years and was a member of the Purdue Reamer Club. He married Teresa Rose Hearne on Nov. 10, 1973.

David farmed in Rush County his entire life. He was a past Deacon and Elder at Hannegan Christian Church. He had also been a member at Main Street Christian Church and most recently was a member of the Rushville First Baptist Church. David was a sales representative many years for Pioneer and also for Kinze and Chem Farm. He was a member of Gideon's International, Rushville Lion's Club, past Scout Master and Leader in Boy Scouts, Indiana Rural Youth, Rushville Roadrunners square dance group, active in 4H throughout his life, a 3rd Degree Brown belt in Karate and had served as Past Master of the Rushville Masonic Lodge #62 F and AM.

David is survived by his wife, Teresa, of Rushville; son, David and wife Jenn Norris of Rushville; daughters, Zonda and husband Tim Ketcham of Lewisville and Rebecca and husband Derek Holycross of Covington; brother, Warren and wife Bobbi Norris of Rushville; sister, Rita and husband Jeff Morgan of Milroy; and grandchildren, Daniel, Benjamin, Audrey and Elizabeth Ketcham, Emma, Jacob, Eliza and Joel Holycross and Cash, Kannon, Kiptyn and Crosby Norris.

David was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother William David Norris.

Services wil be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 at Rushville First Baptist Church. Friends are welcome to visit at the church after 10 a.m. Saturday and from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening, Jan. 23. There will be a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the church. Rev's Jay Noll and Warren Engel will preside.

Private burial will take place after cremation.

Moster Mortuary, Rushville, entrusted with arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice, the Rock steady boxing program thru Reid Memorial Hospital or the Donor's favorite charity.
