About | Debra Kaye Fraley Jenkins, 65, died at Parkview Regional Medical Center on Monday, October 15, 2012 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, after a long battle with illness. She was born on October 7, 1947 at the Henry County Hospital in New Castle and was the youngest daughter of Kimberly (Jack) and Edythe Harris Fraley of Rushville, IN. She graduated from Rushville High School in 1965 and went on to Hanover College for two years. She then transferred to Ball State University in Muncie graduating with a B.S. degree in Secondary Education in 1970. Her first teaching job was on Long Island, New York where she met her husband; living in Freeport, New York. After having three children, she furthered her studies at Long Island University getting her Mater of Library Science degree in 1989. She was the head librarian of schools on Long Island until the late 1990's. Debra is survived by her mother, Edythe Fraley, a sister Judith (Donald) Fraley Hunter, from Fort Wayne, and a brother Lincoln (Glenda) Fraley of Rushville. Also surviving are her three children, Kristina Jenkins of Santa Monica, CA, Lincoln Jenkins and wife, Melissa, of Caldwell, New Jersey, and Lance Jenkins of Edgewood, Maryland. Her grandchildren are Jinae Jenkins, 12, of BelAire, Maryland, Lance Jenkins, 6, and Analise Jenkins, 4, of Caldwell, New Jersey. Services for Debra will be at Moster Mortuary with viewing on Friday, October 19 from 4-8 PM. Funeral Service will at the Mortuary at 10 AM Saturday, October 20 with Rev. Rodelyn McPherson presiding. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery. The preferred memorial is to the Alzheimer's Disease Association. |
