RUSHVILLE - Edwin Micajah Russell, 93, resident of Middletown, passed away on Wednesday morning at his residence after an extended illness.

He was born in New Albany, Indiana, October 14, 1918, the son of William A. and Edna G. Allen Russell.

He was a 1941 graduate of Rushville High School and retired from General Motors in 1974 after 32 years of service.

He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps during WW2 serving as Corporal.

He recieved his award of Gold in the Middletown Lodge F & AM #271, was a member of the Sixth Street Christian Church, American Legion of Middletown, The Middletown Fall Creek Historical Society and the Model Train Associaition. He was a family man and loved music, his workshop, and travelling.

He married Frances Miriam Saunders on November 8, 1942.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years: Frances Miriam (Saunders) of Middletown, 1 son: Richard of Middletown and 1 daughter: Margaret (Marvin) Sanders of Cadiz, 3 grandchildren: Anthony Russell of Anderson, Jerry Sanders of Winchester, VA and Thomas Sanders of Muncie, 5 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, niece: Rita (William) Axsom of Rushville and nephews: David (Linda) Russell of South Bend and Kent (Gwen) Russell of Middletown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Francis and Merwyn Russell.

Funeral services and masonic services will be held on Monday at 3:00 at Ballard and Sosn Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev. Maynard Powell officiating.

Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.

Friends may call on Monday from noon until the time of the services.

Memorials may be made to the Historical Society or the Sixth Street Christian Church of Middletown.

The Ballard familiy is honored to serve the Russell's in family ministry.
