About Evelyn Marjory Fletcher, 85, a life time Rush County resident, passed away April 2, 2014 in Rushville.

She was born October 21, 1928 in Rush County to William L.C. & Etta (Harper) McAlister. She was a 1948 graduate of Rushville High School. Marjory married George Wade Fletcher on Ocotber 4, 1953 and he preceded her in death on June 14, 2012.

Marjory worked many years as a telephone operator with General Telephone Company. She also worked many years at Rush Memorial Hospital & the Rush County Senior Citizen's Center. She had been a member of the New Heights Christian Church in Connersville since 1990 and was active in the Missionary Circle at the church. She was a former charter member of the Rushville Church of Christ and had been a member of the Loyal Ladies of the Church, active in the choir and past Secretary. Marjory was a member of the Friendly Homemakers Club, the Rush Memorial Hospital Auxillary, the Rush County Senior Center, Rush County Right for Life & the Fireman's Auxillary.

She is survived by a son, George Wade Fletcher II of Williamsburg, a daughter, Joetta Fletcher of Economy, a nephew she raised as a son, Mike & wife Maria McAlister of Shelbyville, sisters, Maxine & husband Melvin Bradburn, Dorris McAlister and Patricia Lacy, all of Rushville, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, James Braxton and Melvin E McAlister & a sister, Viola Pollitt.

Services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, with Pastor Brian Powell presiding. Friends are welcome to visit at the mortuary from 4-8 PM Monday evening, April 7. Burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made the New Heights Christian Church or the donor's favorite charity.
