| About | Frances M. Ellison, 92, a lifelong Rush County resident, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012 in Rushville. Frances was born in Rush County on April 18, 1920 to the late William B. and Lula C. (Schaeffer) Ellison. Frances was a 1938 graduate of Graham High School in Rushville. She later graduated from St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in 1942 as an RN and obtained a post graduate degree in Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 1945. Frances was an RCHS Alumni, St. Vincent School of Nursing Alumnae, a member of the IN State Nurses Association, Retired R.N. Club member and a founding and sustaining member of the Indianapolis Hiking Club. She had been a member of Main Street Christian Church since 1932 where she had served as deacon. Frances was an avid geneologist and enjoyed travel in the U.S., Hawaii and Alaska. Frances worked as surgical supervisor at St, Vincent Hospital and was a surgical R.N. at Winona Clinic Hospital. She spent most of her career as an RN for Internists Dr. Howard S. Williams, Jr. and Dr. Walter Chroniak in Indianapolis. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Kathryn C. Ellison of Rushville and a niece, Susan Rennekamp of Rushville, great nieces and nephews, Gregory, Leanna and Jeffrey Rennekamp all of Rushville and Brad, Bryan and Abby Ellison all of Crystal Lake, IL. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by a brother, William Ellison, Jr. and a sister, Jeanette M. Ellison. Services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, July 11 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville where friends are welcome to visit from 5-8 PM Tuesday evening. Rev. Sam Davenport will preside and burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Decatur County or the Main Street Christian Church. |
