| About | Jacqueline Logan Kiplinger Hess, 85, passed on to heaven April 9, 2016. Jacqueline was born on Aug. 21, 1930, the daughter of local Attorney Major Jean R. Kiplinger and Olive L. Logan. She was the granddaughter of Dr. Henry Vernon Logan and Attorney John H. Kiplinger. She was married to Attorney C. Jack Clarkson and they had three children. She later married William Hess who preceded her in death. She was the mother to Jean (John) Clarkson Hahn of Butlerville, Jon Michael (Kris) Clarkson of Connersville and C. Ann (Charles) Bowman Arcadia. She was the grandmother of Christopher J.(Christy) Hahn, Elizabeth J. (Mike) Cassidy, Heather (Rich) Grimmie, Jon Paul Clarkson, Cara (Joe) Moran, Daniel (Emma) Bowman and Whitney Bowman. Also missing her are her step grandchildren, Stacey (Hans) Weber, Chas (Andrea) Bowman, Angie Bowman and Nikki (Brad) Hartwell. Her great grandchildren are Shelby Hahn, Jacob Hahn, Norah Bowman, Kreigh Springman, Adam Grimmie, Lane Palmer, Lillian and John Cassidy. Jackie graduated from Rushville High School in 1949 where she was a cheerleader, member of the 12 Girls singing group, and participated in other organizations. She attended Miami University of Oxford, Ohio. Jackie was a member of the Rushville DAR and Monday Circle Reading Club. She was a leader of Gold Teens and Cub Scouts. She served as a Republican Precinct Committee Woman and was an Indiana State Delegate. She was an avid reader and loved horses and animals. In later life, she was a foster grandparent. Jackie was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Rushville. She was preceded in death by her sister Jane L. Swartz and a great grandson James Tanner Phillips. Private family services and burial took place at Rushville's East Hill Cemetery as she wished.
