About | James A. Wilson 73, Avon, passed away November 4, 2010. He was born November 12, 1936 in Rushville, IN to Arthur and Marian Wilson. Jim was a graduate of Butler University and Rushville High School. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, a U.S. Air Force Reserve veteran, a 32nd Degree Mason, a 50 year member of Scottish Rite, and a member of Avon Christian Church. Jim was a past board member of the Indiana Independent Oil Marketers Association. He was a present board member of the Palmetto Palms Resort Homeowners Association in Fort Myers, FL. He enjoyed singing in the Palmetto Palms Church choir. Jim was a life-long avid golfer. He was a past member at the Rushville Elks Country Club, Harbour Trees Country Club in Noblesville, and Prestwick Country Club in Avon. Jim married Sue Cooper on July 19, 1959, and she survives. Jim owned Wilson Oil Co. in Rushville after which he became a commodities broker. Survivors include his wife, Sue Wilson; daughters, Sandy McCleese (Jesse), Chris Landis (George), Marti Woolston (Tracy); sister, Martha Lines; 7 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Visitation is at Conkle Funeral Home, Avon, Sunday, November 7, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with funeral service on Monday, November 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Conkle Funeral Home, Avon.
