| About | James Richard Cox, age 84, died Thursday Sept 19 at his home in Cocoa Beach. He was born May 26, 1929 in Rushville, the one boy of seven children born to Dewey Price and Aileen (Ryan) Cox. In 1974, Jim retired after 22 years with Indiana State Police and moved to Cocoa Beach to marry his high school sweetheart, Barbara Trabue Taylor. Jim was a 1947 graduate of Rushville High School. Following ten years in the employ of the Brevard County Sheriff, he retired once again. He was an ordained deacon and member of Riverside Presbyterian Church in Cocoa Beach, where a celebration of his life will be held on Monday, September 23, 2013, at 2 pm In addition to his wife, he is survived by: his children, Jeanne (Larry) Dodge and Joseph L. (Denise) Cox of Indianapolis; step children Jeffrey L. Taylor and Jennifer Wood of Cocoa Beach; three sisters, Doris Peterson of Bloomington, IN, Sue Frye of Marion, IL and Martha Todd of Rushville, IN; thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
