| About | Janet A. Voiles, 65, of Rushville, passed away at 7:45 AM Monday, July 12, 2010 at the Flatrock River Lodge in Rushville. Jan was born July 1, 1945 in Rushville, IN to Gerald and Evelyn (Hufferd) Voiles, both deceased. She spent most of her life in Rushville. She was a member of Main Street Christian Church, where she had been a board member, prior member of the Arlington Christian Church & the Rushville Church of Christ. Jan was a member of the Rush County Historical Society, the Greensburg Emmaus Community, the Red Revelers Red Hat Society and taught Sunday School many years. Jan was a 1963 graduate of Rushville High School, she obtained her BS from Hanover College in 1967 and her MA Ed from Ball State in 1973. She had worked at the Rushville Republican the last 10 years. She was a teacher for several years. She taught French in Connersville, taught French and Physical Education in New Palestine along with coaching the girls tennis and basketball teams. Jan had also taught at the Kentucky Christian College. She leaves behind her brothers, Philip of Rushville, William A of Rushville and Don R. & wife Diana of Kokomo, IN, nephews, Brian & wife Leslie, Mike and wife Janci and David Voiles, niece, Karen Wininger, great nieces, Aubrey Nicole Voiles, Krysta Wininger and Darian Voiles and great nephew, Brayden Voiles. Rev's Sam Davenport and Dena Vittorio will preside. Memorials: Main Street Christian Church or the Rushville Public Library Visitations: 4:00PM to 8:00PM on Thursday, July 15th, 2010 at Moster Mortuary Services: 10:00AM at Main Street Christian Church on Friday, July 16th, 2010 Burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. |
