| About | Janet L. Felts, 81, a lifelong Rushville resident, passed away Oct. 17, 2012 in Indianapolis. She was born March 24, 1931 in Rushville to Harry and Lena (Fox) Felts. Janet was a 1949 graduate of Rushville High School and a 1954 graduate of Indiana University where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree. She worked as a legal secretary 23 years for Hughes & Young Law Office and spent 13 years at the courthouse in Rushville working for the Public Defenders Office. Janet was a member of Main Street Christian Church. She enjoyed reading, writing and oil painting. She is survived by nieces, Linda Locke of Fort Wayne, Janice (Walter) McMannus of Mooresville, Donna (Phil) Scott of Greenwood, Susan (David) Thomas of Rushville and Barbara Steve Goddard) of Spencer; nephews, Don Hanlin of Greenwood and Hue Hanlin of Indianapolis; nine great-nieces and six great-nephews. Besides her parents, Janet was preceded in death by sisters, Lillian Ima Jean Felts and Alice Lasiter, and brothers, Manon and William L. Felts. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville where friends are welcome to visit from 10 a.m. until time of service that same day. Rev. Sam Davenport will preside and burial will be in East Hill Cemetery, Rushville. Memorial contributions may be made to Main Street Christian Church or the Humane Society of Rush County. |
