| About | Jay L Evans age 56 Rushville, died September 18, 2014 at his residence when his tractor overturned on him. Jay was born February 19, 1958 in Rushville to Gerald L. and Winona E. (Smith) Evans. His father survives. He married Kathy Goodwin in 2005 and she survives. Jay worked at the Rush County Highway Department many years. He was a Rushville Consolidated High School, Class of 1977 graduate. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and ABATE of Indiana. He loved riding his Harley Davidson and spending time with all of his family. Left to cherish his memory include his wife Kathy Evans of Rushville; his father Gerald L. Evans of Rushville; daughters Kristin (Aaron) Charles of Lagoda, IN, Ashley Evans of Rushville; step children Misty Doyle of New Castle, Greg Goodwin of Greenwood; three grandchildren Addison, Kooper & Karsyn Charles; five step grandchildren Anthony and Eric Goodwin, and those whom he raised Austin, Gabrielle & Josie Doyle. Also missing Jay are his sister Jane Ann Evans of Georgia; brothers, John L. (Margo) Evans of Florida, Jeff L. (Cheryl) Evans of Rushville and Joe L. (Cathy) Evans of Liberty; four nieces & nephews and two great nephews also survive. Jay was preceded in death by his mother, Winona. A celebration of life will be 10 AM Wednesday, September 24th at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory with Rev. Jay Noll officiating. Burial will follow at the Walnut Ridge Cemetery west of Carthage.
