| About | John A. Tellas, 60, a long time Milroy resident, passed away at his home on April 24, 2015. He was born December 16, 1954 in Rushville to Russell E. & Dorothy (Rowland) Tellas. John was a 1973 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School. He married Cynthia Pratt on November 17, 1979. John had worked at Hitachi, formerly STI, in Greensburg since 2009. Prior to that he spent several years working at Meridian in Shelbyville. He was a member of the Raleigh Christian Church. John had coached intermediate girls softball several years and had served as vice president of the league. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia, of Milroy, his mother, Dorothy Tellas of Carthage, daughters, Carla (Ryan) Deckard of Brookston, IN, Christina (Robert) Bonnlander III of Milroy and Serena Tellas of Milroy, a brother, Thomas E. Tellas of Rushville, a sister, Rachel (Gene) Swigart of Carthage and grandchildren, Jami & Devin Elder & Rhett & Kaitlyn Deckard. John was preceded in death by his father, a sister, Rebecca Bastin and a brother, Bobby Tellas. Services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, with Tony Augsburger presiding. Friends are welcome to visit on Tuesday evening from 4-8 PM at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. |
