About John Lloyd McDaniels, 78, a life long Rushville resident, passed away at his home in Rushville on October 10, 2012. He was born in Rushville on September 26, 1934 to John Lewis & Ida Ruth (Hankins) McDaniels.

He enlisted in the US Navy on January 2, 1952 and served thru July 23, 1954. John returned home to Rushville and graduated from Rushville High School in 1955 and married Judith Kay Ryan on July 22 that same year. Judith preceded him in death on June 30, 2008. John reenlisted in the US Navy and served from January 29, 1957-December 12, 1966. He was an E-6 serving both in the Korean and Vietman Wars. He worked from 1967-1989 with Naval Avionic's in Indianapolis. John was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Rushville, the American Legion, VFW and Rushville Eagles Lodge. He was an avid camper and bowler.

John is survived by a son, John L. McDaniels of Rushville, daughters, Lori & husband Michael Clapp of Decatur Co., IN., Joni & husband Tim Moore of El Paso, TX., Karen & husband K.C. Salter of Winter Garden, FL., a brother, Charles A. & wife Linda McDaniels of Indianapolis, sisters, Anna Mary Webb of Milroy, Sandra Sue & husband Richard Ruble of Andersonville, Cheryl Kay & husband Jerry Henry of Columbus, IN. and Deborah Jane & husband Roger Evans of Louisville, KY, 8 grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents & wife.

Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, October 13 at Moster Mortuary in Rushville where friends are welcome to visit from 9AM until time of service. Rev. Dena Vittorio will preside. Cremation will follow services and burial will be in the Arlington East Hill Cemetery at 10 AM on Monday, October 15. Rushville's Veteran's Honor Guard will provide military graveside rites.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or the American Cancer Society.
