| About | Memorial Services for John Walter Van Sickle, 80, of Thoreau, were held on Jan. 17, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the New Life Ministries in Bluewater Acres, followed by a potluck dinner at New Life Ministries. Van Sickle was born on Sept. 8, 1928, in Rushville, Ind., and passed away at his home in Thoreau on Jan. 9, 2009. He graduated from Rushville Heigh School in 1947 and taught school untill he retired and moved to New Mexico. He is survived by his niece: Alice Kay Hedrick of Rushville, Ind., and his care taker: Earl Roy Wagner and wife: Audrianna of Thoreau. He was preceded in death by his parents: Omer E.
