About | Judith A. Mullis Schneider, 76, longtime Rush County resident passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011 at her daughter's home in New Castle. Judith was born Oct. 29, 1934 in Gowdy to Paul and Vera (Ryse) Jones. Judith married Robert L. Mullis on Dec. 23, 1954; he preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1992. She then married Kenneth Schneider on Feb. 12, 2000 and he survives. Judith graduated in 1953 from Rushville High School. She was employed at Western Electric, Jackson Elementary, and then Mullis Cleaners in Rushville. She is a member of First Presbyterian Church in Rushville. Judith leaves behind her husband, Kenneth Schneider of Arlington; one son, Thomas Mullis (and wife, Michelle) of Rushville; one daughter, Mrs. Cliff (Louann) Phares of New Castle; one step son, Steve Schneider (and wife, Cathy) of Rushville; three step daughters, Mrs. Mike (Barbara) VanSickle of Arlington, Mrs. Mike (Susie) Howard of Indianapolis and Mrs. Steve (Sallie) Croom of Louisiana; four brothers, William (and wife, Nancy) Jones, Hugh Jack (and wife, Nina) Jones, both of Rushville, Robert (and wife, Kay) Jones of Texas and James (and wife, Mary) Jones of Greensburg; five grandchildren, Mrs. Ben (Petra) Tackett, Nathon Mullis (and wife, Mica), Christopher Mullis (and wife, Maranda), Brian L. Gosser (and companion, Kasey Hilderbrand) and Douglas R. Gosser (and wife, Carlee); seven great- grandchildren, Caitlyn and Nathon Mullis, Nova, Tuff, and Briggs Tackett, Vivian L. Gosser, and Vera Mullis; six step grandchildren, Mrs. Pat (Whitney) Boyer, Mrs. Jeff (Allison) Vetter, Katie Schneider, Brian Schneider, Matt Howard and Brandon Howard (and wife Meghan); four step great-grandchildren, Makenna and Chelsey Boyer, Delainey and Megan Vetter. In addition to her parents and first husband Judith was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Myer; and a brother, Richard Jones. Burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Pastor Ray Sweet III will preside. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church Youth Group.
