About Kathleen Ellen Ketcham, 58, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, at Reid Hospital, where she had been a patient since Tuesday; she had been in failing health for the past three years.

One of eight children, she was born Oct. 9, 1955 in Rushville, the daughter of William Francis and Regina Rose Freese Moran. She attended St. Mary’s School and graduated in 1974 from Rushville Consolidated High School, Class of 1974. She moved to Connersville for residence in 1976.

On July 4, 1980, she was married in St. Gabriel Church to Carl W. Ketcham of Connersville and they lovingly reared two daughters, Christina and Jamie. Mr. Ketcham survives.

As a teenager, she had worked at Durbin Hotel and later at Jackson Nursing Home in Rushville, then Kathleen was employed at Lincoln Manor for a number of years. Finally, in 1998, she was hired on at J & J Packaging, retiring due to spend time with her family.

She was a member of St. Gabriel Church. In her leisure, she loved to work in her yard and flower beds; she enjoyed doing craft projects with her grandchildren and spending time reading, especially history.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Carl W. Ketcham; two daughters, Christina Rena Ketcham and Jamie Lynn Messer, both of Connersville; four grandchildren, Erin Ketcham, Makayla Moody, Matrisha and Maranda Messer; seven brothers and sisters, Bill Moran, Jr. and his wife Lois, Barbara Moran, both of Rushville, Mary Jo Farlow and her husband Kim of Milroy, Patrick Moran of Rushville, Peggy Rich and her husband Bob of Mays, Timothy Moran and his wife Ellen of Rushville and Susan Hubbell and her husband David of Lewisville. She was also blessed with a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a godfather David Moran of Rushville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Jean Moran, and her godmother, Helen Moran.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, at St. Gabriel Church with Rev. Dustin Boehm officiating.

Burial will be in Lick Creek Cemetery.

Friends may call at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday where the Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.

Died from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
