About | Larry E. Davis, 65, a long time Rushville resident, passed away January 11, 2016 in Rush Memorial Hospital. He was born April 28, 1950 in Rushville to Paul W. Davis & Elizabeth (Gooden) Scott. Larry was a graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School Class of 1969. Larry had worked as Maitre-d for several restaurants in Indianapolis, he worked as a lineman in Indianapolis for Indianapolis Power & Light, he worked nearly 17 years for Yokoma Machinery in Indianapolis and most recently he worked for Kroger in Rushville. In his early life he broke horses at the Rushville Sale Barn & was known as "Black Cowboy". Larry was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Franklin and the Son's of the American Legion Post #249 in Indianapolis. He was passionate about fishing. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Scott of Rushville, his father, Paul W. Davis of Rushville, a daughter, Kathy (Tim) Smith of Cincinnati, OH, sons, Brett & Shawn Holland both of Rushville, brothers, Robert (Janice) Davis of Indianapolis and Phillip (Jennifer) Scott of Plainfield, sisters, Paulette (Vincent) Milton of Fort Worth, TX, Patricia (James) Howard of Overland Park, KS, Laura Davis of Rushville and Victoria Scott of Houston, TX and 4 grandsons, which include; Jamard Lewis and Ashton Smith. Several nieces & nephews survive. Larry was preceded in death by a sister, Carol and his cherished dog, Shasta. Services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Pastor Irvin French presiding. Friends are welcome to visit at the mortuary on Saturday from 10 AM until time of service. Burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. There will be a Son's of the Legionaire service at 12:45 PM Saturday. |
