About Lowell L. "Sam" Weidner Jr. 52 of Rushville passed away December 18, 2004 at his residence.

Born November 14, 1952 he was the son of Lowell L. and Josephine Gulde Weidner. His father survives. He married Melinda Dawson February 9, 1974 and she survives. He was employed by Dawson Oil Company Inc since 1981. He became CEO of the company in 1992 and held that position until the time of his death.

He graduated from Rushville Consolidated High School in 1970. He was a US Army veteran. Sam had many professional and civic memberships some of which include the Amoco Jobber Advisory Board of Indiana; Indiana Petroleum Marketers Association board of directors; Rush County Fair Board, American Legion, Knights of Columbus; Elks Lodge, Antler Point Country Club, golf committee; Rush County Men's Bowling League. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Rush County 4-H Horse Park.

Survivors include his Father Lowell L. Weidner; Wife Melinda; three daughters Jackie (Mrs. Brent) Griffin, Jamie Weidner & Jan Weidner; two sisters Jane Fry and Jean Ann (Mrs. Don) Osterling; four brothers Michael J. (companion Cindy Spurling), John (wife Susan), Tony (wife Rene) and Billy Tom (companion Lola Barnard); three step brothers, Pete (wife Shirley) Levi, Rick (wife Christy) Levi & Bruce (wife Linda) Levi; several nieces & nephews also survive.

The Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday December 22nd at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Dena Vittorio officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Rushville. Friends may call Tuesday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Rush County Community Foundation Dick Neeb Scholarship Fund or Rush County 4-H Horse & Pony Club or South Central Indiana Hospice or American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at funeral home.
