About | Lucile Logan Adams, 94, passed away Sunday March 1, 2015 in Rushville, IN. Lucile was born on March 4, 1920 in Rush County, Indiana, the only child of Thomas E. and Clara B (Kirkpatrick) Logan. She was a 1938 graduate of Rushville High School. Lucile was married to C. Marland Adams on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1943, at Main Street Christian Church. Marland preceded her in death on October 14, 1988. From 1929 to 1980, Lucile lived on her beloved family farm in Rush County. She and her husband then moved to Lakeland, Florida. She returned to Rush County in 2003. Lucile worked at the Rushville Republican from 1946 to 1975 in the advertising and editorial departments, and as society editor. Along with her husband, she founded Auto-Tach Sign Company, Inc., a company serving a unique market niche making magnetic signs for rural mail carrier vehicles. Together they owned and operated the company; it was sold in 1989. Joining Main Street Christian Church in 1934, Lucile served there as a Sunday school teacher and was a member of the church choir. She had been an active member of Kappa Delta Phi sorority and the Rush County Historical Society, and assisted the former Rush County TB Association as a volunteer. Lucile also enjoyed membership in the RHS/RCHS Alumni Association and maintained correspondence through the years with many of her school friends and classmates. Lucile is survived by Kevin and Julie Mahan of Rushville, Katherine Mahan (Clint) McClellan and Everett McClellan and Kristin Mahan (Justin) Scheumann all of Fort Wayne, IN. She is also survived by her cousin, John D. (Janet) Kirkpatrick of Warsaw IN, several nieces and nephews including Phillip and Timothy Starkey of Rushville, Gregory, John and Martha Gardener of Indianapolis. Lucile was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and niece Claudia Starkey. Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. Pastor Sam Davenport will preside. Friends are welcome to visit at the mortuary from 9-11 AM that same. Burial will be in Rushville’s East Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Main Street Christian Church or the Rushville Public Library. |
