| About | M. Jane Dragoo, 78, a life long Rushville resident, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014, at her home in Rushville after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Jane was born March 8, 1936 in Rushville to Donald E. & Mildred (Landis) Myers. Jane was a 1954 graduate of Rushville High School. She received her Bachelors in Education from Ball State in 1958 and her Masters-Specialist in Reading, from Ball State in 1962. She married Richard Dragoo on August 22, 1959 and he survives. Jane taught elementary education at Greensburg Elementary, Jackson Twp. in Rush County, New Salem & Milroy schools, retiring in 1994. She was a long time member of Main Street Christian Church, the retired Teacher's Association and Associate Chapter of Tri Kappa Sorority. Jane was a devoted wife, mother & Gma. She & her family had enjoyed summers in Carp Lake, MI. since 1973. In addition to her husband, Richard, of Rushville, she is survived by a son, David Landis Dragoo & his wife Lindsey of Fishers, daughters, Nancy Hamilton & husband Rob of New Castle, Julie Dragoo of Rushville, a brother, John L. Myers of San Diego, CA. and grandchildren, Will Hogsett, Sam Smith, Ella Dragoo & Laura, Kate & Abby Hamilton. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Myrtle & Byron Myers and her maternal grandparents, Charlotte & Noah Landis. Services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Moster Mortuary in Rushville. Friends are welcome to visit at the mortuary from 4-8PM on Tuesday, September 9. Burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. Rev. Sam Davenport will preside. Memorial contributions may be made to the Main Street Christian Church or the Rush Memorial Hospital Foundation. |
