About | Marjorie Pearsey, 91, of Rushville, died Jan. 22, 2009. Born Feb. 13, 1917 in Rush County, she was the daughter of Wilbur Gordon and Goldie (Abernathy) Lyons, both deceased. She married Horace William Pearsey, DDS in 1935; he preceded her in death in 1958. Mrs. Pearsey was a lifelong resident of Rush County. A 77-year member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, she was a Licensed Practical Nurse and was a founding partner in the Jackson Nursing Home. She was one of the founders and first president of the Indiana Nursing Home Association, in which she was a lifetime member. In addition, she was a member of Tri Kappa. She was a 1935 graduate of Rushville High School and a graduate of the New York School of Design. She later attended nursing school in Indianapolis and obtained her LPN. Survivors include son, William (Marilyn) Pearsey of Lake Santee; daughter, Beth (Glenn) Cardwell of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Paul (Djanedi) Cardwell of Terre Haute, Maria Flores of Vineland, N.J., and Kyle (Barbara) Kilgore of Greenfield; and one great-granddaughter, Sarah. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Pastor Mick Saunders officiating. Entombment will follow in East Hill Shrine Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. |
