About | Martha Louise Kendall, 83, of Rushville, passed away March 14, 2016 at Rush Memorial Hospital. She was born March 1, 1933 in Economy, IN to Raymond and Juanita (Atkinson) Jordan. She was a 1951 graduate of Economy High School, obtained her BA in Education from Purdue University in 1955 and her MA in Elementary Education from Ball State University. She married Victor Carter Kendall on June 9, 1957. Louise taught a total of 22 years, retiring in 1988. She spent a year at both Batesville and Liberty schools, two years at Manual in Indianapolis and 18 years as a kindergarten teacher at Manilla, Arlington and New Salem schools. She was a member of the Main Street Christian Church, the Gab, Garb and Glamour Home Demonstration Club, the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority in Rushville, the Rush County Retired Teachers Association, the Indiana State Teachers Association, and Phi Mu Sorority. Louise was a very loyal follower of the Circle City Sound Barbershop Chorus. She is survived by her husband, Victor, of Rushville, sons, John Kendall of Alpharetta, GA and Brian (Mary) Kendall of Midlothian, VA, a daughter, Karen (Tom) Miller of Dayton, OH, brothers, David Jordan of Newton, KS and Ray Jordan (companion-Barbara) of Muncie and grandchildren, Carter & Will Kendall and Grace Miller, several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Margaret Jordan. Services will be held at 10 AM Friday, March 18, 2016 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. Friends are welcome to visit at the mortuary from 4-8 PM Thursday evening, March 17. Rev. Dena Vittorio will preside. Graveside burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis at 2 PM on Friday, March 18. Memorial contributions may be made to the Thank A Teacher Fund thru the RCCF, Circle City Sound Barbershop Chorus or the Main Street Christian Church in Rushville. |
