| About | Mary K. Bridenstein, 88, of Elkhart, passed away September 24, 2012 at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born May 4, 1924 in Rushville, IN to Albert and Zelda (Ensminger) Stevens and married Richard E. Bridenstein on June 6, 1947 in Indianapolis. He died Dec. 12, 1958. Surviving are 2 sons, Jerry J. (Jane) Bridenstein of Grand Rapids, MI and Billy B. (Vicki) Bridenstein of Elkhart; 4 grandchildren, Beka (Marcus) Nayo, Beau (Kristy) Bridenstein, Jaime (Todd) Roy and Samantha Bridenstein and 1 great-grandson, Christian Nayo. She was preceded in death by a sister, Etha M. Stevens and 2 brothers, Albert and Leo Stevens. Mary retired after 35 years as an operator/clerk for GTE. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and was known for her jaunty hats. Visitation will be an hour prior to the 11 am Thursday memorial service at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart. Rev. Andrea Bremmer will officiate. Entombment will take place at a later date at East Hill Shrine Mausoleum, Rushville. |
