| About | Mary Katheryn Waits 88, of Rushville, died peacefully Saturday February 21, 2015 at Millers Merry Manor. She was born June 17, 1926 in Rushville, a daughter of the late James Henry and Ruth Martin Waits. She graduated from Rushville High School in 1944 and Purdue University in 1948 with a BA in Home Economics/Dietetics. She did her dietetic internship at S. Anthony Hospital in Portland, OR in 1949. She retired from Milwaukee County, (WI) as Head Dietetic Supervisor in 1982 after 31 years service. She was a past member of the American Dietetic Assoc; Wisconsin Dietetic Assoc; and the Milwaukee Dietetic Assoc; Psi Iota XI; Purdue Alumni Assoc; Daughter of the Elks and was baptized at Main St. Christian Church. Her loving family includes her sister Helen Branam and niece Beth Haisley both of Rushville; nephew Dr. Stephen (Katie) Branam of Maumee, OH; six great nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Max Branam. A Celebration of Life will be 11AM Saturday February 28th at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory with Rev. Sam Davenport officiating. Friends may call 4 to 8PM Friday at the funeral center. Entombment will be at Rushville’s East Hill Shrine Mausoleum. |
