About | Mary Louise Kimmell, 93, a long time Rush County resident, passed away at 8:28 AM Wednesday, June 22, 2011 in Rushville, IN. Mary Lou was born May 4, 1918 in Glenwood, IN to Allen and Vera (Poppoon) Hinchman. She married William S. Kimmell on August 11, 1940 and he preceded her in death on June 28, 1968. A member of the Raleigh Christian Church for several years and past member of Tri Kappa. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority while at Purdue. She attended both Raleigh & graduated from Rushville High School in the class of 1936. She spent 2 years at Purdue University and graduated from Ball State University in 1975 with her Master's degree in Elementary education. She was an elementary school teacher in Wayne, Rush & Henry counties. Mary Lou also worked for several years as a QMA for Miller's Merry Manor. She leaves behind her sons, William Hinchman Kimmell (Class of '69) of Indianapolis, Robert Zeigler (Class of '70) & wife Karyn Kimmell of Atascadero, CA, Arthur Joseph (Class of '78) & wife Nancy Kimmell of Arlington, daughters, Annee Kimmell Garrett (Class of '60) of Rushville and Mary Elizabeth (Class of '66) & husband Ryan Emerson of Rush County, grandchildren, Adam Garrett, Marissa, William & wife Jade Emerson & Myra Emerson and Daniel Kimmell, great grandchildren, Christian & Neal Emerson and Cameron & Malorie Jo Kimmell. In addition to her parents & husband, Mary Lou was preceded in death by an infant son, John Phillip and sisters, Maxine Wallace and Lee Crane. Pastor Phil Mitchell will preside. Memorials: Rush County Nurses Association or the Tri Kappa Scholarship Fund. Visitations: 11:00AM to 1:00PM on Monday, June 27th, 2011 at Moster Mortuary.
