About | Maxine Bradburn, 85, a lifelong Rush County resident passed away Friday, February 5, 2016 in Rushville. Maxine was born in Rush County on June26, 1930 to the late L.C. and Etta (Harper) McAlister. Maxine attended school at Webb, Jackson, Mays, Raleigh and was a 1948 graduate of Rushville High School. She married Melvin Bradburn on February 12, 1950 and he survives. Maxine was a secretary for Custom Farm Services, a proofreader for Mayhill Publishing Company and a waitress at the Sexton restaurant. She was a former member of Sexton Christian Church where she was a song leader, secretary, choir member, Sunday school teacher, V.B.S. teacher and Secretary & Treasurer of the Ladies Aid. Maxine was currently a member of the Rushville Church of Christ where she was a choir member and on various committees. She was also a member of M.A.D.D. and active in the Relay for Life. In addition to her husband Melvin of Rushville, Maxine is survived by 2 daughters, Jean and husband Kenneth Stanley and Sue Kline both of Rushville, 2 granddaughters, Amy and husband Greg Murphy, Heather and husband Mike Carlton, 3 great grandchildren, Brandon and Tyler Murphy, Zakary Carlton, sister, Patricia Lacy of Rushville, several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. In Addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by 2 brothers, James B. “J.B.” and Melvin E. “Shorty” McAlister and 3 sisters, Marge Fletcher, Doris McAlister and Viola Pollitt. Services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. Friends are welcome to visit from 5-8 PM Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the mortuary. Burial will be in Rushville’s East Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Rushville Church of Christ. |
