About | Melvin J. Wilson, 88, of Rushville, died Sept. 1, 2008. Born Nov. 15, 1919 in Salem, he was the son of Merle and Audrey (Nuckles) Wilson, both deceased. He married Viola L. Keith June 28, 1964; she preceded him in death April 22, 2001. Mr. Wilson lived in Rushville most of his life. He was a 1938 graduate of Rushville High School and received an Associates Degree at Earlham College and Ivy Tech. He was a World War II Army/Air Force veteran and belonged to the Rushville American Legion and VFW. He was a foreman and plant supervisor at the Rushville Furniture plant. Survivors include daughters, Vickey (William) Nunn of Greensburg, Rita Edwards of New Salem and Paula Hensley of Sunman; sister, Kay (Dick) Ruhlman of Sarasota, Fla.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Jim Lawler officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Memorials are requested to Little Flatrock Christian Church. |
