About | Michael H. Whitaker, 66, of Shelbyville, passed away in Shelbyville on March 23, 2013. He was born on May 19, 1946 in Jeffersonville, IN. to Harold & Lola (Crase) Whitaker. He spent most of his life in the Glenwood, Rushville area. He was a 1964 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School. He had lived in Shelbyville since 1997. Mike married Jacqueline Taylor on February 7, 1999 and she survives. Mike worked for Wonder Bread as a driver for 28 years. He had worked at K&W Fueling in Rushville for the last 20 years. Mike was a member of the First Christian Church in Shelbyville. He attended the Plum Creek Christian Church quite often and had great passion for the Greensburg area Emmaus. In addition to his wife, Jacque, of Shelbyville, he is also survived by his mother, Lola Whitaker of Glenwood, sons, Doug & wife Holly Whitaker of Rushville and Greg Whitaker of Las Cruces, NM, a daughter, Jennifer & husband Rocky Ward of Las Cruces, NM., step-daughters, Sydney & Nikki McKeown both of Shelbyville, a sister, Billie and grandchildren, Abbey Whitaker, Emily Mann, Garrett, Bradan, Malia and Jorie Ward, Hendrix & Ella Murphy. He was preceded in death by his father. Services will be held at 10 AM Friday, March 29 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, where friends are welcome to visit from 4-8PM Thursday evening. Ray Sweet III will preside. Burial will take place in the Orange Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greensburg area Emmaus, PO Box 166, Greensburg, IN. 47240. |
