| About | Myra Jean Bowles, 53, a life long Rushville resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, June 22, 2014 at her home with family & friends surrounding her. Myra was born January 7, 1961 in Rushville to Bill G. & Clara Jo (Woods) Orme. She was a 1979 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School. Myra married Doug Bowles on April 22, 2000 and he survives. She was a member of the Rushville Eagles Aire #2036 & Rushville American Legion Post #150. Myra retired in 1997 after 17 years with the Copeland Corporation. Myra was a lover-of-life and fun! She never met a stranger & welcomed all into her home & heart. Myra had a way of making you feel special, never putting herself before anyone. Her laugh was intoxicating & always ended with a snort...she was a friend to many & will be deeply missed. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Doug, of Rushville, sons, Bradley Duncan of Glenwood, Keith Duncan of Rushville, Bucky & wife Jennifer Bowles & Jonny Bowles all of Rushville, sisters, Monna Jo & husband David Miller, Sally & husband John Collyer all of Rushville, Kelly & husband Kevin Disbro of Milroy, grandchildren, Keegan, Ella & Braylee Bowles. Myra is also survived by serveral nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents & a brother, Timothy J. Orme. Services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. Friends are welcome to visit at the mortuary from noon until 8 PM Wednesday, June 25. Burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. The family strongly encourages that memorial contributions be made to one of the following, in lieu of flowers; RCCA-Rush County Community Assistance, Rush County Boys & Girls Club, RCCF-Jessy L. McClure Fund or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. |
