About | Born December 19, 1925, in Lewis County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Lester (McCane) Redden, both deceased. She married George I. Miller, July 12, 1947; he survives. She was Rush County Deputy Assessor for 25 years, retiring in 1989. She was active in the Rush County Republican Party and served as Precinct 8 committeewomen many years. Memberships include Main Street Christian Church and Kappa Kappa Sigma. She was a 1944 graduate of Rushville High School. Survivors in addition to her husband include one son, George Michael Miller (and wife Cheryl) of Rushville; one daughter, Karen (Mrs. Rick) Woods of Palm Harbor, Fla.; one brother, Howard Redden (and wife Seraph) of Rushville; one sister, Pauline (Mrs. James) Self of Rushville; and two grandchildren. Besides here parents she was preceded in death by one infant son, Mark Miller. Services were held at 10:00 AM, April 5, 2006 at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville with the Rev. Deann Anderson officiating. Burial followed in Rushville's East Hill Cemetary. Memorials to Norma's life were made to the Main Street Christian Church, Parkinson's Foundation or to the donor's charity of choice. |
